What Is Microneedling?
Considered to be one of the quickest and easiest ways to get younger-looking skin, micro-needling is a Needles to Beauty – minimally invasive skin rejuvenating procedure. It uses hair-thin medical grade sterile needles to cause tiny punctures in your skin, prompting a collagen-stimulating healing process that corrects flaws and improves skin quality.
Microneedling, when combined with serums, offers several advantages for skin health and rejuvenation:
- Enhanced Product Absorption: Microneedling creates tiny channels in the skin, allowing serums to penetrate deeper and more effectively. This maximizes the benefits of the active ingredients in serums.
- Collagen Production: Microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production in the skin. When paired with serums containing collagen-boosting ingredients, this can lead to improved skin elasticity and firmness.
- Reduced Fine Lines and Wrinkles: The combination of microneedling and serums can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making the skin look smoother and more youthful.
- Improved Skin Texture: Microneedling can address uneven skin texture and tone. Serums with ingredients like vitamin C can further improve skin clarity and reduce discoloration.
- Scar Reduction: Microneedling is known for its ability to reduce the appearance of scars, including acne scars. Serums with ingredients like hyaluronic acid can aid in scar healing and tissue repair.
- Minimized Pores: Microneedling can help tighten and reduce the size of enlarged pores. Serums containing niacinamide or salicylic acid can also assist in pore refinement.
- Hydration: Serums often contain hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, which, when used in conjunction with microneedling, can provide deep hydration to the skin, leaving it plump and moisturized.
- Customizable Treatment: The choice of serums can be tailored to address specific skin concerns, making microneedling a versatile treatment option for various skin types and conditions.
- Minimal Downtime: Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure with limited downtime. This makes it a convenient option for individuals looking to improve their skin without significant disruption to their daily activities.
- Long-Term Results: When done in a series of treatments, microneedling with serums can provide long-lasting results, promoting ongoing skin health and rejuvenation.
It’s important to consult with Dr Kanika Govil who is Board Certified in procedural medicine and trained to help you determine the most suitable serums and microneedling approach for your specific skin concerns and goals. Additionally, post-treatment skincare and sun protection are crucial to maximize the benefits and maintain healthy, radiant skin.

Who Is A Candidate?
Most patients are candidates for microneedling. We offer free consultations and one of our health care professionals will assess if microneedling is the right treatment for you.
What Does It Feel Like?
While some areas are more sensitive than others, most people generally compare the sensation to sandpaper being moved across the skin. We provide topical anesthetic prior to treating to minimize discomfort.
How Long Does The Procedure Take?
Once the treatment begins, it typically takes 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.
What Will My Skin Look Like Afterward?
Some minor pinpoint bleeding is to be expected immediately post-treatment followed by redness which typically subsides 1-3 days, depending on the level of the treatment.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
For best results, we recommend starting with a series of 3 treatments and having them performed at 4-6 week intervals.
When Will I See Results?
One of the exciting features of the MicroPen EVO is the immediate “glow” patients can see as soon as the procedure is finished. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several weeks. Results continue to improve up to six months after the treatment.
